We all know that there is only one time to make a good first impression. Whether it's on that first date or a job interview. But what if you're nervous or not feeling the vibe? Well, we can leave it to luck which won't do you any good, or we can make it work for ourselves.
Here are five ways to make a good first impression.
Always be on time. A friend of mine always says, "if you are fifteen minutes early you are on time if you are on time you are late." Let that sink in because I know I had to. Being on time not only shows that you are a reliable person but also respectful to other people's time.
Show some teeth. You can walk with confidence but if you don't carry a smile you will appear rude.
Dress to impress. One of the types of wisdom I received from my Grandma is never to leave the house without looking your best. You want to impress someone, dress the part. You will feel good when you look good.
Be Mindful. Keep eye contact when talking to others and don't let your devices distract you. And always remember to say please and thank you when necessary.
Stay Positive. Never talk negatively or complain when talking to someone for the first time. It will show who you are not what you are saying. Give compliments and stay positive.
Cheers to making good first impressions!
